Traffic Control Technician
Summary

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, On-Call
Salary: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Adhering to all OSHA and ATSSA safety rules and procedures
- Participate in or conduct daily JHA’s (Job Hazard Assessments)
- Be prepared for the day, and on time
- Complete daily operational paperwork accurately
- Proper set up and tear down of work zones and traffic control devices such as signs, cones, etc.
- Having awareness of drivers and monitoring the flow of traffic
- Alerting working crew if there are any safety issues
- Using stop/slow paddles to control traffic
- Cooperation with others such as our client’s site leader
- Communication skills such as: interaction with team members, giving alternative routes to members of the public, relaying information to emergency personnel
Requirements
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must pass an MVR check.
- Must be comfortable standing for 8-10 hours a day.
- Must be able to work year round in a wide variety of weather conditions.
Experience level:
- One Year of Flagging Experience
- Must Pass ATSSA Certified Technician Training course

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, On-Call
Salary: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the flow of vehicles and pedestrians in work zones or event areas using flags, signs, and hand signals.
- Ensure the safety of workers, drivers, and pedestrians by following all safety protocols and maintaining clear communication.
- Install and dismantle traffic control devices, such as cones, barricades, signage, and temporary lane dividers, as needed.
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations related to traffic management and safety.
- Quickly adapt traffic control strategies during emergencies like accidents, natural disasters, or equipment failures.
- Observe traffic flow and make necessary adjustments to the traffic control setup to minimize congestion and delays.
- Coordinate with construction crews, utility workers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain accurate records of traffic control plans, incidents, and daily operations for reporting purposes.
- Inspect and maintain traffic control equipment to ensure functionality and readiness for use.
- Provide clear instructions and information to drivers, pedestrians, and the public when needed to prevent confusion and ensure compliance with traffic patterns.
Requirements
- A basic educational qualification, though relevant certifications or training may be preferred.
- A current, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, as the role may involve traveling to various work sites.
- Certification in traffic control or flagging (e.g., Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification, MUTCD compliance) may be required or preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry heavy objects (e.g., cones, barricades), and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure traffic control devices are correctly set up and that safety standards are followed.
- Strong teamwork skills, as traffic control workers often collaborate with construction crews, flaggers, and supervisors.
- OSHA certifications or other relevant certifications a plus.
